Intercom
The complete AI-first customer service platform.
Founded in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, Des Traynor, Ciaran Lee, and David Barrett in Dublin, Ireland, Intercom was built on the simple belief that internet businesses had lost the personal touch of real-world customer relationships and needed a way to talk to their customers like humans again. The platform started with a simple chat widget for websites and evolved into a comprehensive customer communications platform. Intercom raised at a $1.275 billion valuation in 2018 and has since invested heavily in AI, launching Fin, an AI customer service agent that can resolve the majority of customer questions without human intervention. The company serves over 30,000 businesses including Atlassian, Amazon, and Shopify, and generates over $400 million in annual recurring revenue.
