Founded in 2017 by Brazilian entrepreneurs Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi, Brex was originally a virtual reality startup before the founders pivoted after experiencing firsthand how difficult it was for startups to get corporate credit cards. Leveraging their payments expertise, Pedro had built one of Brazil's largest payment gateways at age 16, they built Brex as a corporate card specifically designed for startups offering higher limits without requiring a personal guarantee. Brex quickly expanded into expense management, business accounts, and travel tools, becoming a comprehensive financial operating system for businesses. The company reached a $12.3 billion valuation in 2021.

Henrique Dubugras is the co-founder and CEO of Brex. Born and raised in Brazil, he co-founded Pagar.me, a major Brazilian payments company, before moving to the US to attend Stanford, which he later dropped out of to build Brex through Y Combinator. At just 22, he became one of the youngest CEOs of a unicorn startup in Silicon Valley and has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
Pedro Franceschi

Pedro Franceschi is the co-founder and CTO of Brex. A programming prodigy from Brazil, Pedro built one of the country's largest payment processing platforms at just 16 years old and was later accepted to Stanford before dropping out to co-found Brex. His deep expertise in payments infrastructure and financial systems has been central to Brex's ability to build a modern, scalable financial platform from the ground up.
