About

Dr. Ignacio Bonasa Alzuria is a Spanish transformational leader, entrepreneur, educator, and international advocate for humanistic leadership, organizational wellbeing, and purpose-driven transformation. With more than two decades of executive experience in the financial sector, he has evolved from senior banking leadership into a new generation of leadership focused on people, purpose, emotional intelligence, art, and human potential.

He is the Founder and President of Liderarte, an organization dedicated to transforming people and organizations through leadership, talent development, education, emotional awareness, and art. His approach challenges conventional models of management by placing the human being at the centre of organizational strategy. Through his work, Bonasa promotes the concept of “Organizaciones con Alma” — Organizations with a Soul, advocating for workplaces where purpose, empathy, culture, wellbeing, and sustainable excellence work together. His philosophy proposes that organizations can achieve stronger and more meaningful results when human development is treated as a strategic priority.

Education

Dr. Bonasa holds a Law degree and an MBA from ICADE and completed the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School. He has also pursued advanced doctoral education, including a doctorate in Psychology and doctoral work focused on Leadership and Organizational Transformation. His academic and professional development reflects a multidisciplinary approach combining business management, psychology, leadership, education, human development, and organizational transformation.

On 14 January 2026, he was admitted as a Corresponding Academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (RAED) in the Human Sciences field, with his inaugural address focused on “Organizations with a Soul: The New Paradigm of Humanistic Leadership in the 21st Century.”

Career

Dr. Bonasa began his career in the financial sector and spent more than two decades developing an extensive executive career with major Spanish financial institutions, including Banco Exterior de España, Argentaria, BBVA, BBVA Portugal, BBVA Dinero Express, and Caja Rural de Aragón. His responsibilities included senior executive and general management positions, including CEO of BBVA Portugal and President of BBVA Dinero Express.

Despite achieving considerable professional success in banking, Bonasa eventually chose to redirect his career toward human development and purposeful leadership. This transition became the foundation for Liderarte and his broader mission of integrating business performance with human wellbeing.

Founded in 2012, Liderarte became a platform through which he developed programs and initiatives connecting leadership, education, art, emotional intelligence, and personal transformation. His work has subsequently expanded through initiatives including RESETÉATE, Womentoring, BienestART, Organizaciones con Alma, and the international movement Dale la Vuelta a la Tortilla (Turn the Table).

Personal Life

At the heart of Dr. Bonasa's work is the belief that leadership should move beyond authority, financial performance, and organizational hierarchy.

His humanistic leadership philosophy emphasizes purpose, empathy, emotional intelligence, learning, creativity, and wellbeing. He argues that leaders have a responsibility not only to achieve organizational objectives but also to create environments in which people can grow and contribute meaningfully.

His 4A model — Aprendizaje, Actitud, Alma y Acción (Learning, Attitude, Soul and Action) — provides a framework for connecting personal development with organizational transformation. Through this methodology, art and experiential learning become tools for developing more conscious and emotionally intelligent leaders.

Achievements

One of Dr. Bonasa's most significant achievements has been the development of a leadership model that combines business strategy with humanistic values, emotional wellbeing, and artistic expression.

Through Liderarte and related initiatives, his programs have reached thousands of leaders and professionals in Spain and Latin America. His work has focused on helping individuals and organizations rethink traditional approaches to leadership, talent, learning, and workplace wellbeing.

His influence has also extended into academic and international forums. In 2026, his admission to the Royal European Academy of Doctors marked another milestone in his contribution to discussions surrounding humanistic leadership and organizational transformation.

His ideas have additionally been explored through academic publications addressing areas such as arts-based wellbeing, humanization, leadership, and organizational health.
