Founded in 2019 by Markus Pflitsch in Rorschach, Switzerland, Terra Quantum was built to bridge the gap between quantum computing research and real-world enterprise applications. Rather than waiting for error-corrected quantum hardware, Terra Quantum develops hybrid quantum-classical algorithms that can already deliver value on today's noisy quantum systems. The company has offices across Europe and the United States and counts major financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies among its customers. Terra Quantum raised €75 million in 2022 and has published quantum machine learning research that demonstrates near-term quantum advantage on optimization and simulation problems relevant to enterprise use cases.
