Retool
FeaturedBuild internal tools remarkably fast.
Founded in 2017 by David Hsu and others in San Francisco, Retool was built to solve one of the most universal and painful problems in software engineering — building internal tools. Every company eventually needs custom internal dashboards, admin panels, and operational tools, but building them from scratch is time-consuming and they are never prioritized over product work. Retool provides a drag-and-drop builder for developers that can connect to any database or API, enabling teams to build sophisticated internal tools in hours. The company raised a $925 million Series C at a $3.2 billion valuation in 2022 and has expanded into AI-powered workflow automation. Over 100,000 companies including Amazon, Doordash, and NBC Universal use Retool to build their internal tools.
