Founded in 2023 by Karol Hausman, Sergey Levine, Brian Ichter, and Chelsea Finn in San Francisco, Physical Intelligence assembled the most impressive founding team in robotics — four of the most cited researchers in robot learning, all previously from Google DeepMind and Google Brain. He holds a PhD from the University of Southern California and previously led research at Google Brain and Google DeepMind, where he worked on robot learning and general-purpose manipulation.
