Perplexity AI
FeaturedAsk anything. Know more.
Founded in 2022 by Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho, and Andy Konwinski in San Francisco, Perplexity was created to reimagine how people search for information on the internet. Unlike traditional search engines that return a list of links, Perplexity reads the web in real-time and synthesizes a direct, cited answer to any question. The product quickly gained a passionate following among researchers, students, and professionals as a daily alternative to Google. By 2025, Perplexity had reached 100 million monthly active users and raised funding at a $9 billion valuation from investors including SoftBank, Jeff Bezos, and NVIDIA. It launched Perplexity Pro and a shopping assistant, signaling its ambition to become the AI layer on top of the entire internet.
