OpenAI
FeaturedAI for the benefit of all humanity.
Founded in 2015 by Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Greg Brockman, and others in San Francisco, OpenAI started as a non-profit AI safety research lab. The launch of ChatGPT in November 2022 became the fastest product to reach 100 million users in history, sparking a global AI revolution. OpenAI's GPT-4, Sora video generation model, and o1 reasoning model have redefined what AI can do. In 2025, Microsoft deepened its $13 billion investment and OpenAI raised a landmark $40 billion funding round at a $500 billion valuation, making it the most valuable AI company in the world. It recently transitioned to a for-profit structure and is preparing for a potential IPO.
