Grab
FeaturedEveryday everything app for Southeast Asia.
Founded in 2012 by Anthony Tan and Tan Hooi Ling in Malaysia, Grab started as a simple taxi-booking app to address the safety and reliability issues of taxis in Southeast Asia. It quickly expanded across the region and evolved into a full-fledged superapp offering ride-hailing, GrabFood delivery, GrabPay digital payments, financial services, and grocery delivery. Grab operates in over 500 cities across eight Southeast Asian countries. The company went public on NASDAQ in December 2021 through a SPAC merger at a valuation of approximately $40 billion, making it one of the largest US stock market listings by a Southeast Asian company.
